Princess Fatemeh Pahlavi

H.I.H. Princess Fatemeh Pahlavi was born on October 30, 1928, in Tehran as the tenth child of
Reza Shah Pahlavi and Esmat Dowlatshahi. She was a member of the later generation of the Pahlavi royal family and the half-sister of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi.
Early Life and Education
Princess Fatemeh Pahlavi spent her early years in Tehran and lived with her family at the Marble Palace. She later pursued her education abroad and attended Converse College in South Carolina in the United States.
Activities and Interests
During the reign of her half-brother, she was active in business and held shares in various enterprises, including construction, engineering, and industrial production. She also participated in initiatives related to higher education and had interests in sports, including ownership stakes in the Iranian football club Persepolis F.C.
Princess Fatemeh Pahlavi was also among the first Iranian women to obtain a helicopter pilot’s license, reflecting her independent and pioneering character.
Personal Life
Princess Fatemeh Pahlavi married Vincent Lee Hillyer in 1950. The couple had three children before divorcing in 1959.
Later that year, she married Mohammad Amir Khatami, a senior officer in the Imperial Iranian Air Force. Their marriage produced three children.
Later Years and Death
Princess Fatemeh Pahlavi left Iran prior to the Islamic Revolution of 1979 and spent her later years in London.
She passed away on May 27, 1987, at her residence in London at the age of 58.
